Fabric manipulation is the art of working with an already constructed surface or fabric to give it a different appearance and physical quality. There are many different techniques for fabric manipulation, for example: various types of embroidery such as smocking, fabric deconstruction, and various types of pleating or ‘tessellation’ to name a few.
